The best of 2009

I am truly honoured that all of you have chosen me to do your cards this season. It’s been pretty hectic, but everyone has gotten their cards on their doorsteps within 48 hours which is fantastic. You know those times when things just *click* this has been that season. Thanks to everyone.

So as requested on the fanpage, here is the list of the most popular designs of 2009:

1. Custom! (No surprise here!) – We did 63% custom designs this year.  You all have such great ideas for colours and styles, it’s been a pleasure to working with you to make your card truly YOURS.

2.  Pink Ribbon Surivor -  Due to this years Pink Ribbon campaign, this card was a hit. If there is one thing I can feel proud of this year it’s being a part of this special project. I have gotten to talk with so many amazing people, my life is changed forever.

3. Holly Jolly Christmas – I swear, I’m happy that you all like this design, but I am considering taking it off of the page so that I don’t have to see it anymore after this season

4. Blue Swirls on Brown – Those of you with little boys ate this design up! It was a hit at the baby show, and it’s still a hit with at least 30% of birth announcement orders choosing this design!

5. Tea Party Invitation - There were a lot of tea parties this year, so this invitation rounds off the top 5.

So there it is. The best of the best (although I will admit, putting custom as #1 was kind of a cop out )

So what’s coming in 2010 ….???

Well, I’m working on some more detailed design ideas for next year. Expect to see bigger designs (that’s all I’m giving you for a hint for now!) and things that you can send to your friends and family all year round.  I’m also working on partnering with some of my favourite photog’s in Ontario AND in the USA … I know, cool right?

Local Design Company Launches SURVIVOR CARDS ®  for Cancer Suvivors

A local design company has launched a new series of products called ‘Survivor Cards ®’ with a sales proceeds to the Ottawa Hospital Regional Cancer Foundation.

Designers of SwanSong Creative were first approached by Amy Eagre, a 1 year breast cancer survivor who was looking for a way to celebrate her story. Amy says “I was looking for a way to let everyone know I am still alive and kicking, but also say thank you for their support.” It was with that in mind that Survivor Cards® were created.

“The Goal of these cards it to provide Cancer survivors with the opportunity to celebrate life” says Krista, the lead designer. The cards are fully customizable, and are available in many styles, but the showcase card is the only one being shown on the website right now. The full catalogue is made available through a survivor’s network in the Ottawa area, and will be available online beginning November 1^st.

“Being someone who has been touched by Cancer, I am honoured to be part of the celebration of these women’s lives.” Says Krista.

HUGE News! Order number 200!

I’m proud to announce, that since we since we opened our online store in September of 2008, we’ve now reached order number 200!!!  Thanks to all our customers, and a very special thanks to all the repeat customers. It’s because of you and your beautiful children that I get to do what I love. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

To commemorate order number 200 and the fact that my son’s third birthday is right around the corner (eek!!), we’ve decided to include a free 5×7 print with all orders in June, July & August (even digital only orders!) just be sure that when you check out you enter your mailing information so I can send them to you!

P.S. I know, I know – there haven’t been many updates to the catalogue on the site – but as you know we’ve been super busy with custom orders and just haven’t had time to put any up!
